Slow Voter Turnout On Madison Isthmus

February 16, 2016

Voting at Wil-Mar Center on Madison’s isthmus is slow.

At 1:20 when James and I cast our ballots in Ward 42 it registered 261 and 262.

I asked about how things were faring with the new voter ID requirements and it was reported that is a learning curve for all involved, workers and voters alike.  More election officials will be required for April as there were some frustrated voters earlier today and a longer than normal time to cast a simple ballot.  It need not be this way, of course.

I always think about Dad on voting days. At this time each Election Day I would always call him and we would compare how many voters had cast a ballot in Hancock to what had happened where I live.  Though much has changed since his passing he would remind all to get out and vote.
