How Does Assault Weapon For Military Settings Get Into Hands Of Citizen On Streets Of America?

June 12, 2016

America woke up this Sunday morning to news that the deadliest mass shooting in America had taken place at an Orlando nightclub.  As of this posting there are 50 dead and scores more injured with what are being reported as grievous wounds.  The death toll is expected to increase.

The ease of obtaining guns in America linked up nicely for a terrorist who wished to do harm against–in this case–gay Americans.  It is not as if we have not been warned that these two factors would connect and create great damage.  It did in Orlando, and will do so again due to a lack of spine and spunk from our elected officials to make laws that have teeth and meaning to stop the outage.  It will also happen again due to the timidity of the citizenry to stand up to the deadly harm perpetrated by the National Rifle Association.

There is no way to miss–again–the lead question to this massacre.

How does an assault weapon used for military settings make it into the hands of any citizen on the streets of America?  It simply boggles the mind to the degree that this nation has allowed–yes ALLOWED–for the gun laws of this nation get so turned so upside down.

What is now allowed to happen makes as much sense as if one were to place new turf on the lawn and plant it grass side down.  By not pushing back with fervor against the NRA and their limp dicked allies in the halls of power this nation has accepted the outcomes that are making for wall-to-wall coverage today on television.

We are only accepting that we will wake up to more days such as what is unfolding today by not demanding that large magazines for weapons be outlawed, or that a complete dismantling of sales at gun shows occur, or that strict laws governing private sales of weapons where background checks are a running joke is implemented.

Until the next time there is a mass killing by guns in America this is Caffeinated Politics asking for sanity.

You miss the entire point, pkarm, and it’s a simple one. If Muslim terrorists–or any other whack job of any stripe–could not easily lay their hands on assault weapons in this country, this tragedy would probably not have happened. Let’s make it real plain–civilians do not need access to military weaponry.

I don’t fear the government nearly as much as I fear people who want to force all of us to be armed to the teeth before we dare step out in public. Do we really have to go back to Dodge City?

Not sure how to be more direct than this when it comes to you and your lack of reasoning when it comes to guns.—your are simply retarded! Brain dead.

You deleted my comment on another thread so I don’t expect this one will pass your censorship test either. But again blame the NRA blame guns and not one word about the Muslim who did this was a ISIS terrorist who targeted gay people nope dont want to offend the Muslims we will just continue to blame law abiding people THEY ARE THE REAL PROBLEM! You are a good soldier for Obama you follow his lack of leadership very nicelyu

My small-town Wisconsin wife–whose childhood could have been lifted almost verbatim from “Walking Up The Ramp”–puts it like this: “Where I grew up, EVERYONE had guns. But not guns specifically designed to kill as many people as possible in a short amount of time.”

Come to think of it, this also applies to my childhood in Missouri.

Would that we could return to an America not in the thrall of gun freaks (read: misplaced manhood issues).

I hear you, Gregory. You have asked this question all too many times, and it appears that no one is listening and no one cares (including some of your own commenters). To them I say: How many deaths will it take to get your attention? Hundreds? Thousands ? Hundreds of thousands? Your “right” to own automatic assault weapons (NOT DEER RIFLES, DON’T EVEN GO THERE) does not supersede the right of the rest of us to LIVE IN A CIVILIZED SOCIETY. Damn right I’m shouting.
