Tight Presidential Race In Key Battleground States

July 17, 2016

As we head into Day One of the Republican National Convention a new series of polls from key battleground states shows a very tight and competitive race taking place.

The latest CBS News/YouGov battleground tracking polls show the following.

  • Ohio: Clinton 44%, Trump 40%
  • Michigan: Clinton 41%, Trump 39%
  • Iowa: Trump 40%, Clinton 39%

Across 11 different battleground states — Colorado, Florida, Iowa, Michigan, North Carolina, New Hampshire, Nevada, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and Wisconsin — Clinton barely leads 41% to 40%.

President Obama won all 10 of these states in 2012, all except North Carolina.
