Republicans Lack Of Unity Costly On Election Day
This caught my attention today and fits into the running narrative about the degree to which the Republican Party is not able–for obvious reasons–to gather around their presidential nominee.
From Politico comes the following.
At an Institutional Investor conference last week at the Four Seasons in Chicago, a straw poll of the heavily Republican audience on the election found that 59 percent supported Clinton, 15 percent supported Gary Johnson and only 14 percent were for Trump. After the election results were announced over lunch with Peter Hart as the guest speaker, there were chuckles in the 250-person crowd. More than 50 percent of attendees said they had voted for Romney in 2012.
