New York Times Correctly Dedicating Money For Donald Trump Investigations
The New York Times is dedicating $5 million to covering Donald Trump’s administration. Considering the many aspects of this new White House that will require serious examinations one has to ask if that is a sufficient sum of money.
The Times’ top brass announced this allocation of resources into covering Trump and the “new world order” in a memo pegged to the release of an internal report from the Times’ 2020 group addressing how the paper needs to adapt and thrive in the digital age.
They’ll use the money to bankroll additional investigative and subject-area expert reporters. The coverage will go beyond the White House, extending to encompass “the stability of the global order that prevailed since World War II and America’s place in that world.”
Those who have studied history and world affairs grasp the need for the NYT to examine and report the problems of removing U.S. stability and values from our core mission around the world. That Trump champions such tactics demands solid reporting.
