GOP Senators And This Blogger In Agreement Over Need For Investigation Into Trump And Russian Ties
Last night I stated the feelings that I am sure resonates around the nation. And for good reason.
Politics use to stop at the waters edge in this land. Tonight serious questions must be asked–and answers obtained–as to what is happening with Trump and Russian President Putin. While I understand that Trump supporters probably have not heard of the Logan Act the serious minded who care about this nation have, and need to be vigilant. The news of what Flynn did tonight does not resolve questions as much as fosters a whole new series of them.
The sinister dealings that Flynn undertook for Trump is part and parcel of the dangerous sentiments that exists in this White House regarding a wide range of national security issues. Tonight he was thrown out of the Trump administration. But the concerns of a nation still are front and center about the intermingled relationship Trump has with Putin.
Today a number of Republicans made it clear they too feel action must be taken.
The Senate’s second-ranking Republican and other GOP senators are calling for an investigation into connections between President Donald Trump and Russia, and want former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn to testify.
Sen. John Cornyn told reporters that the Senate standing committees with oversight of intelligence need to investigate Flynn. Sen. Roy Blunt, a member of the Senate Intelligence Committee, also told KTRS radio he wanted to speak with Flynn.
And so it goes.
