Anyone who has planned a wedding will be familiar with the dilemma: How do you include everyone on your guest list without offending someone by leaving them out, while staying within the catering budget? While I think small and more meaningful weddings are the best there are those times when only large affairs are suitable. Such as with Prince Harry and his bride-to-be Meghan Markle.
But the prince and his mate have hit a problem most of us don’t have to contend with. Donald Trump’s ego.
More specifically, the British government is worried about Trump’s reaction if the happy couple invites Barack and Michelle Obama. It seems that Prince Harry has made it clear he wants the Obamas at the wedding, so it’s causing a lot of nervousness. If the Obamas get a royal invite and Orange Mussolini does not will there be snit from this side of the pond? Will Trump be tweeting bile if the Obamas get to a royal wedding before the ego-driven madman has had a chance to meet the Queen?
It has been widely reported for years the 33-year-old prince has become good friends with the Obamas, and lets be also honest that the royal couple are not at all fond of America’s would-be dictator. But this wedding is about Harry and Meghan and not the one who has a loathing of Mr. Obama. Let the child-man be enraged. And let the happy couple have the wedding they desire and fits with the history of their past generations.
Let Trump stay in Washington and by so doing allow Prince Harry to be the only one touching his bride.
