California Camp Fire 3 Times Size Of Madison, Wisconsin

November 14, 2018

The Camp Fire was 201 square miles on Nov. 13. That’s 3.0 times the size of Madison’s 68 land square miles.

The wildfires ravaging California, which include the most destructive and deadly in the state’s history, together cover hundreds of thousands of acres. That’s an area bigger than all but a handful of U.S. cities.

To get a sense of the scale of the wildfires, use this map to compare each blaze to any of the 1,000 most-populous cities or towns in the country.

I am so sorry for all that has happened, lives lost, and untold damage. Hugs from this home to yours. I hope no more lives are lost. Take care and keep me posted.

I don’t know how far we are from Butte county , but the smoke has already reached our city. We can even smell the fire , especially in the morning.
