How low can Fox news go in their attempt to bow and bend to Donald Trump? How much more can they do to align themselves with the under-educated viewers who suckle at the teat of partisanship in the guise of news? We all can have our differences when it comes to policy but we should never, for the sake of a political party, tear at the integrity of a decorated war hero.
Call me old-fashioned, but I suspect most of my readers would agree with my views and this post.
Lt. Col. Alexander S. Vindman is rightfully hitting back at the smear campaign against him. A lawyer for Vindman, the National Security Council’s Ukraine expert, sent a warning letter to Fox News on Wednesday seeking a retraction or correction of an October segment hosted by one of the network’s most obnoxious personalities, Laura Ingraham, which baselessly suggested that the colonel, a decorated Iraq war veteran, might be guilty of espionage.
On Ingraham‘s Fox News show she cited a report that Ukrainian officials were seeking advice on how to deal with Donald Trump’s personal lawyer Rudy Giuliani from Vindman. Her guest, former Bush administration attorney John Yoo, responded, by saying “I find that astounding. Some people might call that espionage.”
I get the fact Fox News needs to confront how to report the impeachment of Donald Trump. But ripping apart a war hero so to defend the cheating, lying, immoral, and completely abhorrent person now sitting in the Oval Office is perhaps the most shocking display of partisanship yet aired on that network.
And so it goes.
