A conservative activist group is blasting Burger King for using what it calls a profane word to sell meatless Whoppers.
First, the issue should be the meatless Whoppers being the object of angst. But when it comes to the outrage over the word choice the only reaction from the nation should be ‘this is what shakes your world’?
In August, the fast-food giant rolled out an ad promoting its plant-based Impossible Whopper. In the minute-long segment, one customer scarfs down a patty and between bites mumbles, “Damn that’s good.”
That is when One Million Moms saw decency being flushed and decided to take action. But one does wonder where they were when their hero Donald Trump was cursing and cussing at his political rallies. Or his cussing on Twitter, thus making it necessary for major news networks to put up a parental warning prior to reporting the story.
Donald Trump used a curse word in a Tweet that caused broadcasters to consider how to react when reporting the news. Jake Tapper on “The Lead” put it this way.
A parental advisory for you: In this block, I’m going to be quoting from things that the President of the United States has tweeted, so if you have kids in the room, you might want to mute the television.
Then he quoted Trump’s “bullshit” tweet.
The Wall Street Journal reported that Trump began Friday’s heated closed-door negotiations with Senate Minority Leader Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.) and newly minted Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) with a 15-minute, profanity-laced rant. Sources familiar with the meeting also confirmed the account to CNN and the Daily Beast.
But there have not been any examples of One Million Moms having any objections to the words of their Dear Leader.
But when it comes to the burger ad the group said it was “damaging” to impressionable children, who tend to repeat what they hear. “The language in the commercial is offensive, and it’s sad that this once family restaurant has made yet another deliberate decision to produce a controversial advertisement instead of a wholesome one.”
My readers know I was appalled when Trump brought up the size of his penis DURING a nationally televised presidential debate. Yet, the One Million Moms was silent.
That group is just the biggest bunch of hypocrites that we have heard about in a very long time. It should be noted that the group is nothing more than a front organization for American Family Association, which is pro-Trump, and as of last month, their president Tim Wildmon joined Trump’s Faith Advisory Council.
One Million Moms should be jeered and mocked as they are simply a most embarrassing spectacle.
